"My Mother's Hands"
By: Cindy Feeman
This is the theme for our Mother/Daughter Banquet this year which will be held on Saturday May 20 at 4:00 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall... 2037 Jackson Ave., Portsmouth, Ohio. Ruth Smith from Hartville, Oh. will be our guest speaker this year. Many exciting things are planned and we hope if you have the time that you will consider attending. All ladies are welcome, even if have no Mother or daughter to bring (like me). I'm sure you will have a great time and you won't be sorry. Why not invite a friend?
What ever your situation with your Mother, I'm sure Sis. Smith will minister to your heart and you will enjoy the fellowship. You may laugh, cry or get too full of food... but one thing for sure you will be welcomed and feel loved. If you would like to attend please let us know by calling the church and leaving a message at 740-354-1108 or you can comment below.
Mother's are special and need to be honored!
Her hands held me gently from the day I took my first breath.
Her hands helped guide me as I took my first steps.
Her hands held me close when the tears would start to fall.
Her hands were quick to show me that with Gods help she would take care of it all.
Her hands were there to brush my hair, or straighten a wayward bow. Her hands were often there the hurts that didn't always show.
Her hands helped hold the stars in place and encouraged me to reach. Her hands would clap and cheer and praise when I captured them at length.
Her hands would also push me, though not down or in harms way.
Her hands would punctuate the words, just do as I say.
Her hands had to sometimes discipline, to help bend this young tree.
Her hands would shape and mold me into all that I could be.
Her hands are now twisted with age and years of work.
Her hands now need my gentle touch to rub away the hurt.
Her hands are more beautiful than anything can be.
Her hands are the reason I am me!
